Jimi Agbaje's 2015 gubernatorial troubles

Those who have seen Jimi Agbaje in recent times have allegedly stated that he is not too happy with the turn of events in his aspiration for the Lagos State gubernatorial seat. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, ordered the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to maintain status quo on the contentious gubernatorial primaries held in Lagos over a week ago, in which Mr Jimi Agabaje emerged the party’s candidate for the 2015 governorship poll. The court has reportedly forbidden the declared winner of the PDP guber primaries, Jimi Agbaje  from parading himself as the party’s guber candidate until the case, slated by the court for December 23 is settled.
Earlier on, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro had reportedly asked the court to direct the party not to accept the result of the primaries held on December 8, due to the alleged misconduct during the exercise. He surmised that a total of 806 accredited voters were announced at the commencement of voting, but 866 delegates later voted. Obanikoro further informed the court of details that he believed made Jimi Agbaje a viable candidate for the Lagos State gubernatorial elections. Sources have revealed that Senator Musiliu Obanikoro is allegedly seeking for outright cancellation of the exercise and a rerun at a date to be fixed.
